Australia demonstrated its commitment to building international cyber law expertise in the Pacific by organising the second workshop on the application of international law in cyberspace in Nadi, Fiji.
Bringing together participants from Fiji, PNG, Vanuatu, Samoa, Tonga, Kiribati and Palau the four-day workshop provided a comprehensive overview of how existing international law applies online, covering key themes of sovereignty, jurisdiction, human rights and humanitarian law.

In the era of the digital age it is more important than ever for all countries to have an understanding of how international law applies in cyberspace to both benefit from the increased interconnectivity as well protect their citizens and interests online.
Delivered in partnership with Cyber Law International the workshop is a key activity under Australia's Cyber Cooperation Program which aims to build cyber resilience in the Pacific. A key area of focus for the Program is to promote an understanding of how existing international law, norms and confidence building measures apply in cyberspace.
